What You Should Do After a House Fire in Detroit
-
Ensure Safety First: Evacuate immediately if your home or building is at risk. Avoid re-entering until authorities declare it safe.
-
Call 911: Report the fire and follow instructions from emergency personnel. Firefighters and police can secure the area and document the scene.
-
Seek Medical Attention: Even if injuries seem minor, get checked by medical professionals. Smoke inhalation and burns can have delayed effects.

Contact Your Insurance Company: Notify your insurer as soon as possible to begin the claims process. Provide documentation of the fire and damages.
