Detroit, MI (March 9, 2026) – A fatal pedestrian crash occurred on Monday, March 9, at approximately 2:15 a.m. near the intersection of Minock Street and Schoolcraft Road within the jurisdiction of the Detroit Police Department's 8th Precinct. 

Authorities responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian. Units from the Detroit Fire Department were dispatched to the scene, along with personnel from Detroit EMS. Upon arrival, responders found a victim trapped beneath a vehicle.

Firefighters performed an extrication using airbags to lift the vehicle and free the person. Despite lifesaving efforts by emergency crews, the victim was pronounced deceased at approximately 3:29 a.m. by emergency responders.

Evidence technicians with the Detroit Police Department were called to process the crash site, and the department's Fatal Squad is investigating to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim or additional details about the vehicle involved. The crash remains under investigation by the Detroit Police Department.
