What You Should Do After a Serious Car Crash in Detroit

  1. Ensure Safety First: Move to a safe location if possible and check for injuries. Avoid standing near traffic or unstable structures.

  2. Call 911: Report the crash immediately. Police and emergency responders can secure the scene and provide medical assistance.

  3. Seek Medical Attention: Even if your injuries seem minor, get evaluated by medical professionals. Some conditions, including internal injuries or head trauma, may not show immediate symptoms.

  4. Document the Scene: If it is safe to do so, take photos of vehicle damage, roadway conditions, and surrounding property. Gather contact information from witnesses.

  5. Obtain a Police Report: Request a copy of the official crash report from the responding agency, such as the Detroit Police Department.

  6. Consider Legal Guidance: If reckless driving, speeding, or other negligent behavior contributed to the crash, an attorney can help explain your rights and potential options for compensation.

If you or a loved one has been injured in a serious vehicle crash in Detroit, you do not have to face the aftermath alone. A wrongful accident lawyer in Detroit can help investigate liability and pursue compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, and other damages.
