Detroit, MI (July 12, 2026) – A woman in her 40s was killed and a man in his 40s suffered critical injuries following a two-vehicle crash near Livernois and Grand River Ave in Detroit on Saturday, July 11, according to police.

Authorities said the collision occurred after a driver, who was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed, allegedly ran a stop sign and struck another vehicle. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the injured man was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Police confirmed that the suspected driver was taken into custody. Additional information regarding possible charges has not yet been released.
